How Much Health Do You Have In Apex?
One of the most important aspects of Apex Legends is staying alive. In order to do that you need to know how much health you have how to manage it effectively. Here’s everything you need to know about the health system in Apex Legends.
Starting Health
At the beginning of each game every player starts with 100 health. This is represented by a green health bar at the bottom of your screen.
Shields
In addition to your starting health you can also pick up shields to provide additional protection. There are four levels of shields in Apex Legends:
- Level 1 (White): 50 health
- Level 2 (Blue): 75 health
- Level 3 (Purple): 100 health
- Level 4 (Gold): 100 health extra perks such as faster heals revives
When you pick up a shield it will attach to your existing health bar increase your overall health. For example if you have a level 2 shield attached your total health will be 175 (100 starting health + 75 shield health).
Healing
If you take damage during a game you’ll need to heal yourself in order to replenish your health. There are a few different ways to heal in Apex Legends:
- Syringes: Restore 25 health over 5 seconds
- Med Kits: Restore 100 health over 8 seconds
- Phoenix Kits: Restore 100 health shields over 10 seconds
- Shield Cells: Restore 25 shield health over 3 seconds
- Shield Batteries: Restore 100 shield health over 6 seconds
It’s important to note that you can’t heal while you’re taking damage. So if you’re in a firefight you’ll need to find cover before you can start healing.
Knockdown Shields
When you get knocked down in Apex Legends you enter a downed state where you’re vulnerable to enemies. However you can use a knockdown shield to protect yourself. Knockdown shields come in three levels:
- Level 1 (White): 100 damage absorption
- Level 2 (Blue): 250 damage absorption
- Level 3 (Purple): 750 damage absorption
Knockdown shields are automatically equipped when you get knocked down so make sure to use them to your advantage.
